  • Separate preferences and activation receipt.

This morning I set a preference in Navicat to auto-open a database on launch. When I restarted the program, I got into an endless loop of crashes when trying to open that db. I couldn't get past the crash to reset the preferences to skip the auto-open, so I renamed the plist to plist.bak so that a default plist would be generated. Sadly, it seems the activation record is in the preferences, so I was now dealing with an unactivated program, with the activation limit reached and no way of deactivate the crashing version. This setup is too brittle! Would it be possible in a future version to move the activation receipt to a different file, so it doesn't get trashed with the preferences?

    Hi pfitzner,

Thanks for your suggestion. I have forwarded it to our development team. We will keep improving Navicat in future.
