  • How to ignore case in ALL databases and ALL tables when specifying WHERE clause?

How can I make querying VALUES, NOT case sensitive? Eg

    Select * from...where
    table.column like '%Macy%'

    returns, 'toMacy' but NOT 'tomacy'

How can I enforce "case ignoring" throughout ALL tables, and ALL databases?

    Thanks.

(I use Innodb, utf-8/utf-8_bin if that matters)

You can include BINARY in the SQL. For example:

    SELECT * FROM `artist` WHERE `artist_name` LIKE BINARY '%ABC%'

We will consider to improve our Navicat in the future. Thanks for your advice.
