  • auto increment primary key?

Hi, I'm trying the demo version of navicat on a sql server 2008 and have created then played with a few tables but they don't seem to auto increment the primary key. How can this constraint be added and/or is there something I should have done when first creating the tables?

    Thanks in advance.

Please note that Navicat does not support to set/change an existing column as identity. Please set it when you create a new table or adding a new column.

Thanks, great answer. Related to your picture is it good (best?) practice to set a length for an id/identity column? I have read that performance is increased via having defined length columns . . .

        Hi Mike Shields,

I am sorry for my mistake in the screenshot. You are not required to enter the length for the identify column. If you entered, it will reset to 0 after saving the table.
